ST. THOMAS — The V.I. Taxicab Commission, in collaboration with the V.I. Police Department and the West Indies Company, is urging Jouvert revelers not to drink and drive during Carnival 2023.
To promote responsible celebration, they are offering "Free Safe Ride" services with designated Jouvert drivers.
The Safe Ride Shuttles will be available on Thursday, April 27, immediately following Jouvert. Revelers can find the shuttles in front of the Alexander Farrelly Justice Complex, where they will be traveling eastbound and making stops along the Safari Bus route.
The shuttle service will include stops at Raphune Hill, Fort Mylner, TuTu Park Mall, Smith Bay, Red Hook, Nazareth, Frydenhoj, Nadir, Bovoni, Bolongo, Frenchman's Bay, and Haven Sight. No vouchers are needed for this free service.
Organizers encourage attendees to take advantage of the Captain Morgan's Safe Ride Shuttle Drivers to ensure a safe and enjoyable Jouvert experience. "Remember, the life you save may be your own," says a quote in the release.
