In a festive nod to the upcoming Virgin Islands Carnival, Governor Albert Bryan Jr. has detailed the schedule of administrative leave for government employees during key events of the 2024 season. The governor's announcement ensures that employees will be able to participate in the annual cultural festivities, which highlight local traditions and community spirit.

The schedule, aimed at celebrating one of the territory’s most vibrant events, will see various government offices closing to allow non-essential executive branch employees to join the festivities, which include the Food Fair, J’Ouvert, and the Children’s Parade. Mr. Bryan's office outlined the specific dates and times administrative leave will be granted:

Wednesday, May 1, 2024: From 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., during the V.I. Carnival Food Fair, all non-essential government employees on the islands of St. Thomas and St. John will be granted leave.

Thursday, May 2, 2024: On J’Ouvert morning, administrative leave will extend from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for employees on St. Thomas and St. John.

Friday, May 3, 2024: The Children’s Parade day will see administrative leave granted territory-wide from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
