A magnitude 6.2 earthquake impacted the Leeward Islands Friday morning, with the quake being felt in several Caribbean countries.
According to Earthquake Tracker, the quake shook Leeward Islands Montserrat, Guadeloupe, Marie Galante, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Saint Christopher, and Martinique in the Windward Islands.
Hundreds of people were commenting on Facebook about the earthquake being felt in various Caribbean countries.
According to V.I. Alert, the quake may have been felt in the USVI. "If a Tsunami is detected as a result of the earthquake, separate Tsunami information will be sent by Alert V.I.," reads the notification from V.I. Alert.
The earthquake's center point struck at 40.8 km (25.3 mi) WSW of Pointe-Noire, Guadeloupe, with the the impact reaching as far as Dominica to the south, and Antigua and Barbuda to the north.
