Applications are currently being accepted for the newest cohort of female small entrepreneurs into the Three Queens Ventures Women’s Business Accelerator program. Run by the SEAT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (SEAT IEC), the program seeks to help small female manufacturers grow and expand their current business.
This iteration is targeting “small-batch manufacturers of packaged food and beverage products,” according to a press release from SEAT Caribbean. To qualify, the female entrepreneurs must live in the territory, and their products must also be manufactured in the USVI.
The program, SEAT IEC says, is an individualized course that will allow entrepreneurs to enhance skills, acquire new knowledge, learn best business practices and receive mentorship and guidance from professionals.
Significantly, participants will also be able to access seed funding and potential market partnerships critical to their business. “Three Queens Ventures aims to build a collective comprised of a network of like-minded women whose primary objective is to scale their existing business for success, while providing employment opportunities and contributing to the economic development of the USVI,” the release states.
Verna Walcott, who participated in the last business accelerator cohort, said that the experience was a valuable one. Her business, Just Drinks VI, benefited from the knowledge and experience she gained. Ms. Walcott now has greater confidence in her direction and has built “strong relationships with peers and mentors for ongoing support and guidance,” she says.
Applications to join the fourth cohort of the Three Queens Ventures Women’s Business Accelerator can be made online, and must be submitted by January 30.
