In a move aimed at boosting local employment and industry expertise, the Office of the Governor has announced a special enrollment offer for residents in the Oaksterdam Cannabis Business Programs. The initiative comes with steep discounts, thanks to funding provided by Act 8679, the law legalizing marijuana for recreational use in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

To offer more information about this opportunity, a special webinar will be held on Monday, September 18th at 5:00 p.m. EST. The webinar aims to answer any queries residents may have regarding the courses and how to enroll, according to the release.

Orientation and the first classes are set to begin on September 25th, with live classes continuing through mid-November. The Business of Cannabis Live (Fast-Track) and Horticulture Live (Fast Track) programs will be conducted virtually, featuring live lectures twice a week for nine weeks. The self-paced programs in Manufacturing & Extraction, Budtending, Horticulture, and Business are also available.

The Oaksterdam University programs are designed to meet the needs of legacy operators requiring regulatory compliance and industry best practices. This opportunity is exclusively open for full-time residents of the U.S. Virgin Islands, the release states. Applicants are required to provide photo ID for address verification with Student Services.

Residents interested in these courses are advised to register for the webinar as soon as possible to receive timely email reminders. For additional questions about the Oaksterdam courses, appointments can be scheduled to speak with an Oaksterdam advisor.

Oaksterdam is eager to assist those with questions on their journey in commercial cannabis operations. For questions specifically directed at the Office of the Governor team, send an email to [email protected].
