ST. CROIX — The Virgin Islands Police Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision on Kingshill Road that claimed the life of 59-year-old Kenneth Belony Tuesday evening.
According to VIPD, the 911 Emergency Call Center notified a Traffic Investigation Bureau officer at approximately 7:10 p.m. on June 30, 2026, of a one-vehicle collision on the eastern shoulder of the southbound lane of Kingshill Road, Route 663, in the vicinity of the Kingshill Cemetery.
The driver was transported by ambulance to Juan F. Luis Hospital for medical treatment.
Police said the preliminary investigation found that Mr. Belony was driving a red 2007 Nissan Sentra from north to south on Kingshill Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle while traveling along a curve. The vehicle then struck a utility pole on the eastern shoulder of the southbound lane.
Mr. Belony sustained head injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. He was identified by next of kin, according to police.
The case remains open and under investigation by the Virgin Islands Police Department Traffic Investigation Bureau, St. Croix District.
