Separate Single-Vehicle Accidents on St. Croix Leave Drivers Injured But Stable

ST. CROIX — Two single-vehicle accidents on St. Croix that occurred hours apart late Saturday and early Sunday left the drivers injured and seeking medical attention at the Juan F. Luis Hospital, the V.I. Police Department confirmed to the Consortium following an inquiry.

The first accident occurred in Estate Glynn in the vicinity of the Sam's Gas Station. According to V.I.P.D. Director of Communications Glen Dratte, the 911 Emergency Call Center was notified of the accident at about 10:40 p.m. Saturday by concerned residents who reported that a vehicle, a white truck struck a pole causing power outage in the area.

Video and still images captured by the Consortium show a white truck across the Sam's Gas Station flipped on its top, and Emergency Medical Technicians responding to the incident. Mr. Dratte said EMTs and law enforcement officers were dispatched to the area to assist. 

The driver, a man, was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center for treatment and was listed as stable, according to the V.I.P.D.

Single-Vehicle Accident at Croixville Stoplights

The second incident, which occurred in the west-bound lane on the Queen Mary Highway (Centerline Road) in the vicinity of the Croixville stoplights, was reported to the 911 Emergency Call Center at about 4:12 a.m. Sunday, according to the V.I.P.D.

The vehicle, what appears to be a black car, crashed into a wall on the west-bound lane that separates a defunct concrete/mortar company from the road.

The driver, a woman, was transported to JFL by ambulance for medical treatment and was listed as stable.
