Pedestrian in Critical Condition After Being Struck by Vehicle on Krum Bay Road in St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Krum Bay Road in St. Thomas on Tuesday, leaving the individual in critical condition, according to a news release from the V.I. Police Department.

The incident occurred around 3:58 p.m. near the Ace Hardware store.

Preliminary investigations by the VIPD Traffic Unit indicate that the pedestrian was crossing Krum Bay Road in a northward direction when he was hit by an orange Hyundai Elantra traveling westbound toward the hardware store. The pedestrian was unresponsive at the scene and was immediately transported by ambulance to the Schneider Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment.

The pedestrian sustained multiple injuries and remains in critical condition. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
