ST. CROIX — A somber mood envelops the community as the V.I. Police Department reports a tragic event that occurred on Wednesday.
At approximately 10:19 a.m., officers from the Wilbur Francis Command Patrol were dispatched to the scene in Estate Little Fountain following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the officers were confronted with a distressing scene. An unresponsive 71-year-old male was found lying in a driveway, having suffered severe injuries. The preliminary investigation into the incident revealed a heartbreaking turn of events. The elderly man, identified by his next of kin as Mr. Terry Stephen Watson, had attempted to stop a moving vehicle that began to roll downhill. In a tragic twist, the vehicle rolled over Mr. Watson, resulting in fatal injuries.
