ST. CROIX — A tragic early morning accident last Friday resulted in the death of a female passenger and left the driver with serious injuries, the V.I. Police Department has confirmed to the Consortium. The incident, a single-vehicle collision, occurred at the eastern entrance of the Christiansted Cemetery on St. Croix.

According to the VIPD's Traffic Investigation Bureau, the incident occurred around 1:09 a.m., when emergency services were called to the scene by the 911 Emergency Call Center.

Upon arrival, Fire and Rescue personnel informed the police that two individuals were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. The driver, identified as Bobbe Lee Parker, was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital Emergency Room for medical treatment. The passenger, Shannon Grey, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Sergeant Arthur A. Joseph Sr., the Commander of the Traffic Investigation Bureau, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing. Further details will be released as they become available.
