Franz A. Christian, Sr. Is Dir. Of Law Enforcement Planning Commission

Former Police Commissioner Franz A. Christian, Sr., has been tapped by Governor Kenneth Mapp to lead the Law Enforcement Planning Commission in the new administration.

In this role, Christian will head up the government entity responsible for the federal funding and grant writing needs of the law enforcement community, according to a Government House press release.

Christian joined the Virgin Islands Police Department in 1974. He worked his way through the ranks, holding each classified and unclassified position from police officer through the commissionership.

Christian is also a Vietnam War veteran and received an honorable discharge from the military.

He is a graduate of St. Joseph's High School on St. Croix, and earned a degree in Police Science from the College of the Virgin Islands, now University of the Virgin Islands. He also furthered his studies in business administration, also at College of the Virgin Islands.
