ST. THOMAS — Local law enforcement on Friday arrested five individuals on Tiffany Lane in St. Thomas, near Limetree Beach Road, and confiscated four firearms — including a ghost gun — found to be in the suspects' possession.
V.I. Police Department officers were following a tip regarding suspicious activity in the area, according to the department. Officers from the Mariel C. Newton Command, Criminal Investigation Bureau, and Forensics were dispatched to the scene, where they discovered Raheem Murray, 28; Isaiah Murray, 35; Jelani Hodge, 30; Taheem Jarvis, 21; and Giovanna Roumou, 18, shirtless and in possession of firearms.
Upon arrival, officers conducted a search of the immediate area, locating the suspects in a Jeep Wrangler. After directing them to exit the vehicle, officers observed several firearms in plain view inside the car, the VIPD said. The suspects were subsequently detained and taken into custody without incident. None of them held licenses to carry firearms in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The suspects are facing four counts of unlawful possession of a firearm (constructive possession), seven counts of unlawful possession of ammunition, and one count of possession of a "ghost gun" with no serial number. They are currently being held on a bail amount of $200,000 each, according to the VIPD.
