ST. CROIX — Authorities have arrested two suspects in connection with the aggravated rape of a 13-year-old girl in the Christiansted area on December 3, 2022, the V.I. Police Department has announced. Ajani Nicholas, 18, and Kevin Nicholas, 20, have been charged with second-degree aggravated rape.
According to the VIPD, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report about multiple adult males engaging in sexual relations with the minor on different dates, times, and locations. The suspects made contact with the victim through social media and arranged to meet her in person.
Members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau were assigned to the case and discovered that three adult males were involved in the crime. Warrants were obtained for all three suspects, and on April 28, 2023, at 9:15 am, Ajani and Kevin Nicholas were arrested and charged.
The suspects were booked and processed, with their bail set at $75,000 each. Both men were subsequently transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility, pending their advice of rights hearing scheduled for May 1, 2023, at 9:00 am in the V.I. Superior Court.
