The St. Croix Educational Complex High School has partnered with Clean Sweep Frederiksted Community Development Corporation to beautify the school's campus with mural art. The effort allowed students to participate in the creation of several of the murals along with the artists, according to Clean Sweep.
Consortium photographers and videographers from the company's VIC VIDEO arm were on scene. See some of the pictures they captured here.
The nonprofit organization said it received a grant from the St. Croix Foundation "which enabled the organization to collaborate with several mural artists to re-imagine school spaces." The Complex High School applied for and received the grant that allowed the mural beautification.
Clean Sweep V.I. adds that the murals "aim to ignite possibilities and pay homage to individuals who have contributed to the fields of STEM even as far back as the Egyptians, as evidenced by the depiction of Imhotep, known for advancements in architecture and medicine."
