Bryan Announces Col. Ivan Udell As Acting Adjutant General

News / Virgin Islands / February 15, 2019

ST. CROIX — Governor Albert Bryan announced on Friday Colonel Ivan R. Udell as the acting adjutant general of the Virgin Islands National Guard, and retired Lieutenant Colonel Elwyn Browne as chief of staff of the Office of the Adjutant General, Government House has announced.

Col. Udell currently serves as the deputy chief of staff for operations and plans at the National Guard and will serve as the acting adjutant general until Adjutant General Nominee Kodjo Knox-Limbacker completes his required retirement process from federal active duty as mandated by law, Government House said.

The announcement comes as Gen. Debra Howell transitions from service as the territorial adjutant general of the Virgin Islands National Guard, the release said.

“I am grateful to Col. Udell and LTC. (Ret.) Browne for answering the call to serve and thank them for their continued service to our Virgin Islands National Guard, our community and their service to our nation,” Mr. Bryan said. “I also thank Gen. Howell for her service to the people of the Virgin Islands as the Territorial Adjutant General and wish her well in her future endeavors.”
