Interior Applauds the Census Bureau for Opening Offices in U.S. Territories to Conduct 2020 Census

U.S. Department of the Interior Assistant Secretary, Insular and International Affairs, Doug Domenech congratulated the U.S. Census Bureau (Census) for recently opening census offices in American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), and the U.S. Virgin Islands — St. Croix and St. Thomas. Census has been working closely with the governors of each territory in preparation for the upcoming 2020 Island Areas Censuses. “I am pleased that the U.S. Census Bureau has taken this positive, proactive stance to support and strengthen the 2020 Census operation for the U.S. territories,” Mr. Domenech said. “We believe that Census’ close work with each of the territories will ensure accurate, and timely results for our fellow Americans in the territories.
