
VITRAN Bus Involved in Dual Collision, Ends Up Hitting Fuel Pump at St. Croix Gas Station

A V.I. Transit (VITRAN) Route 6 bus was involved in a traffic accident early Friday morning in the La Grande Princess area of St. Croix, according to the V.I. Department of Public Works. The incident occurred at approximately 7:39 a.m. on Route 75, with DPW initially stating the crash occurred "near the Titan Gas Station." However, photographic evidence obtained by the Consortium shows that the VITRAN bus actually collided into the Titan Gas Station itself, striking one of the fuel pumps. The damage appears to have been the result of a sequence of events in which the VITRAN bus made contact with a privately operated vehicle before continuing forward into the station’s forecourt area. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances of the collision, including the sequence of impacts.
