Frying Pan Fire Reaches Ceiling at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School Cooking Lab

A cooking lab classroom at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School in St. Thomas experienced a grease fire incident today, prompting an immediate response from school personnel and emergency services. According to the V.I. Department of Education, the fire originated in a frying pan and quickly moved upward, reaching the ceiling. School personnel, including the teacher, students, and monitors, acted swiftly to evacuate everyone from the affected area. They successfully used fire extinguishers to contain and address the flames before the fire could cause more extensive damage. The V.I. Fire and Emergency Medical Services also quickly responded by dispatching a fire truck to the high school to secure the scene and confirm that the fire was fully extinguished.
