Storm System In Atlantic To Become Depression In Days; Current Projected Path Puts It Away From Caribbean Islands

A storm system the National Hurricane Center said in its 5:00 a.m. advisory has an 80 percent chance of development within five days and 50 percent within 48 hours, is currently projected to track north of the Caribbean islands. According to N.H.C., showers and thunderstorms have increased overnight in association with the system, currently an area of low pressure, over the central tropical Atlantic. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for gradual development, and a tropical depression is likely to form within the next two to three days while the system moves slowly west-northwestward to northwestward. Hurricane Humberto The National Hurricane Center said in its 5:00 a.m. advisory that the center of Hurricane Humberto was located near latitude 29.7 North, longitude 77.3 West, and the storm is currently moving toward the northeast near 5 mph (7 km/h).
