Man Accused of Blocking Woman’s Car, Shattering Window and Biting Hospital Security Officer

ST. CROIX — Kennedy Navarro remains detained after police said he blocked a woman from exiting her vehicle, punched through the driver’s side window and injured her before later resisting officers and biting a hospital security officer. During a court hearing Monday, Magistrate Cristopher Timmons found probable cause to uphold a charge of destruction of property as a crime of domestic violence. The proceeding was postponed because additional information was needed from Navarro before the matter could continue. He remains in custody pending a hearing scheduled for Wednesday. Police were called shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday to a bar on Queen Street in Frederiksted. Responding officers met an emergency medical technician who said he had treated a woman for lacerations to her arm caused by broken glass.
