
Woman Claims No Knowledge of Marijuana in Bag, Arrested After Hidden Key Found

ST. THOMAS — Another woman is currently facing drug trafficking charges after being arrested at the Cyril E. King Airport with marijuana in a suitcase. According to court documents, on March 23, Kesahia Davis flew into St. Thomas on a Spirit Airlines flight from Fort Lauderdale. During X-Ray scanning of the checked luggage on the flight, Customs and Border Patrol officers detected what they referred to as “anomalies” inside one of the suitcases. Suspecting that the bag may contain marijuana, the officers sent the suitcase through to baggage claim, so as to observe who might come to retrieve it. When Ms. Davis took the suitcase off the conveyor belt and headed towards the exit, she was detained by CBP officers. After allegedly confirming that the bag was hers, she was escorted to a secondary screening area.
