Royal Caribbean's Quantum Of The Seas To Make Maiden Call On St. Thomas

Quantum of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International's newest ship and the first in its Quantum class, will make its maiden call at the West Indian Company Dock on St. Thomas, Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Quantum class ships are the cruise line's second largest category of passenger ships based on gross tonnage, according to Royal Caribbean. "It is always a pleasure to welcome a new ship to the Virgin Islands," said Joseph B. Boschulte, president and CEO of the West Indian Company, Ltd. "As larger, more luxurious ships become the norm for the cruise industry, we look forward to being able to host more ships with the grandeur and appeal of Quantum of the Seas on a regular basis." Completed last October, Quantum of the Seas will call on ports in the Caribbean for its inaugural season before re-positioning in China in May.
