20-Year-Old Man Killed in Motorcycle Collision Near The Market STX in Frederiksted

ST. CROIX — A fatal two-vehicle crash near The Market STX in Estate Plessen has claimed the life of a 20-year-old man, the Virgin Islands Police Department has confirmed. According to the VIPD, the incident occurred on Queen Mary Highway (Route 70) at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Friday. Emergency personnel responded to the scene following a call to the 911 Emergency Call Center, which reported a collision near the western entrance/exit of The Market STX in Frederiksted. Upon arrival, officers from the VIPD’s Traffic Investigation Bureau learned that the operator of a dirt bike involved in the crash had already been transported by ambulance to the Juan F. Luis Hospital for emergency medical treatment. A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a white Chevrolet Tahoe had slowed down and begun making a right turn into The Market STX when the dirt bike collided with the vehicle.
