Territory-Wide Medallion Auctions For Veterans Set For December

Levron Sarauw, Sr., executive director of the Virgin Islands Taxicab Commission announced on Thursday that pursuant to Virgin Islands law, the Taxi Commission will hold its annual veterans medallion auction on December 13, 14 and 15. The auction will be open only to Virgin Islands veterans, Mr. Sarauw stressed. Applications can be picked up at the Taxicab Commission’s offices during regular working hours (Mon-Fri., 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m). Bid forms must be deposited in the bid box no later than 9:00 a.m. the day of the auction for St. Thomas and St. John, and two days before for the St. Croix auction, according to the release. Applications must be taken to the Office of Veterans Affairs for verification of eligibility as a U.S. Virgin Islands veteran on the island for which the bid is scheduled.
