Airport Road Repairs Begin; JetBlue Resumes St. Croix-Puerto Rico Flights

Motorists in St. Croix have been urged to “plan ahead” for trips to the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport as the Department of Public Works begins work on Airport Road over the holiday season. The announcement was made by Government House Director of Communications Richard Motta, who indicated that the government is “moving post haste to begin the mill and pavement of the entire airport road from east to west.” Funding for this particular section of infrastructural work totalling $1,763,650.20 was approved during a recent Legislative session. “This project is finally going to be coming to fruition this holiday season,” said Mr. Motta. While he did not possess “a specific timeline for completion,” the communications director for Government House said that he would “go on [a] limb and say 30 to 60 days.” The contractor, identified as Marco Paving, is set to commence improvements this week.
