School Bus and Sedan Collide in Anna’s Hope; Driver Transported to Hospital

ST. CROIX — A school bus and a sedan were involved in a traffic collision Monday morning along Queen Mary Highway in the Anna’s Hope area, resulting in one driver being transported to the hospital, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department. VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte told The Consortium that the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of the collision shortly before 9 a.m. Officers and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene. Dratte said the school bus, which is used to transport students with disabilities, was traveling westbound, while the sedan was heading eastbound. During the incident, the bus crossed slightly into the eastbound lane and collided with the sedan. He emphasized that no students were on board the bus at the time of the crash, noting that it was traveling empty. The driver of the sedan was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
