
EPA Awards $18.5 Million Contract for Tutu Wellfield Superfund Cleanup

Efforts to remediate the Tutu Wellfield Superfund site are moving ahead with the selection of a contractor to perform remediation work. Earlier this week, the Environmental Protection Agency awarded environmental remediation specialists Conti Federal Services a task order contract in the amount of $18.5 million to perform the work. According to the announcement from Conti, “the contract…will focus on the source area groundwater contamination at the USVI Department of Education Curriculum Center property.” The work is expected to include installation of extraction, injection and monitoring wells, and upgrading the existing pump system. The project is expected to be completed in June 2031. “We look forward to applying our innovative solutions to improve groundwater quality, a critical resource, for this community,” said Laura Tobin, Conti Federal's Vice President, Environmental Business Line Leader.
