Latest Refund Batch Sends Over $7 Million Back to Virgin Islands Residents

More than $7 million in long-awaited income tax refunds are being released to Virgin Islands residents, continuing a series of payouts aimed at returning funds to eligible taxpayers who filed on time. Government House announced Monday that over $7 million has been authorized for distribution to 2,817 Virgin Islands tax filers who are owed refunds and who submitted their income tax returns by April 9, 2024. The announcement was made during the weekly Government House press briefing Monday. The newly approved batch follows earlier refund releases this year, including $10 million issued in November ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday and $15.7 million distributed in July, according to the administration.
