Gunfire Erupts in Busy Sunny Isles Area, Endangering Civilians

ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the busy Sunny Isles area on Tuesday afternoon. According to the department, at approximately 3:37 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received multiple reports of gunfire near the Food Court parking area in Sunny Isles. According to VIPD, the suspect or suspects fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived. Two vehicles were damaged during the incident, but there have been no reports of injuries. The case is being actively investigated by the VIPD’s Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB). Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward.
