Liberty Mobile and Contractor Sued for Wrongful Death After Laborer Falls From Trailer and Is Crushed

Liberty Mobile and its contractor, Specialized Utility and Fiber Construction, are facing a wrongful death lawsuit after a laborer allegedly fell from a contractor trailer and was crushed by it. The incident occurred on July 10, 2025. Simeon Thomas, known as “Sancoch,” had been hired by Specialized Utility and was riding atop a trailer being pulled by the company’s utility truck, according to a lawsuit filed this week by Mr. Thomas’ family. The trailer, the complaint says, was carrying “a Bobcat tractor and heavy communications wiring belonging to Defendant Liberty.” At some point, Mr. Thomas reportedly fell from the trailer and was run over. He later died from his injuries at the Schneider Regional Medical Center.
