Virgin Islands Students Invited to Apply for Blake and Karen Rapier Space Scholarship

On Monday, the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands announced that local high school students with an interest in space and other STEM fields can now apply for the Blake and Karen Rapier Space Scholarship. The scholarship, funded by investment firm RapierMed, will cover the cost to attend Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville Alabama. “The Space Camp experience immerses trainees in a setting rich with space, aviation, and defense exhibits that ignite creativity,” the CFVI said in a press release. Mission simulations encourage camp attendees in the 42-year old program to develop teamwork skills and hone leadership and decision-making abilities, according to CFVI.
