ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a man late Tuesday night on Peter’s Farm Road, Christiansted. The incident occurred was reported to the 911 Emergency Call Center at approximately 11:58 p.m.

According to VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte, upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a Hispanic male, later identified as 33-year-old Angel Casanova of Estate Friedensthal, Christiansted, unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Emergency Medical Technicians examined Casanova but found no signs of life.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was sitting in his vehicle when he was shot multiple times in the upper body. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and law enforcement officials have not disclosed a potential motive.

Mr. Dratte stated that the case remains an active investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information about this shooting—or any other related incidents—to come forward.
