WAPA Announces Rotational Outages in St. Thomas–St. John Due to Reduced Generation Capacity

WAPA announced rotational outages for Sept. 11 in the St. Thomas–St. John district due to reduced generation at the Randolph Harley Power Plant. Feeders 8A, 8B, 7C, 7A, 7B, 7E, 9E, 10B, 9C, 6A, and 6B will be impacted, with restoration delays possible.

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority has announced a rotational outage schedule for the St. Thomas–St. John district which began at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. WAPA said the outages are the result of reduced generation capacity at the Randolph Harley Power Plant.

According to the authority, restoration of service may be delayed by up to 15 minutes. Officials also noted that the schedule remains subject to change depending on fluctuations in demand.

The authority provided the following rotation schedule:

  • 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Feeders 8A and 8B

  • 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Feeders 7C and 7A

  • 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Feeders 7B and 7E

  • 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Feeders 9E and 10B

  • 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. – Feeders 9C and 6A

  • 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. – Feeder 6B
