One Dead and Another in Critical Condition Following Two Traffic Accidents in 24 Hours in BVI

ROAD TOWN, BVI — In the first road traffic fatality for the year 2020, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force today reported the death of 25 year-old-Reon Stephens.

Stephens, a Guyanese National, was involved in an early morning accident on the dual carriage way. The Great Mountain resident was taken by ambulance to the Dr. D. Orlando Smith hospital in Road Town where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

Meantime, police also identified another male who was involved in a late night accident at Paraquita Bay as Keron Andrews.

Andrews is a 29-year-old Vincentian national who resides in Diamond Estate.

Police said he was taken by ambulance to the Dr. D. Orlando Smith hospital where he underwent surgery for injuries sustained. He remains in critical condition.

The RVIPF said details surrounding both accidents are still unclear and investigations are ongoing.
