Young athletes continue to enjoy a stellar season on the track, as members of the Virgin Islands Track and Field team record impressive performances during their most recent track meets on the mainland.

Sofia Swindell, who was competing in the Eastern States Invitational in New Rochelle, New York on June 4, won her 200m final with a time of 25.40 seconds. She also picked up two silver medals at that event, in the 100m hurdles and the triple jump respectively.

Nicola Peters was first across the finish line on May 27 at the Parker Track Club 3rd Annual Track Meet in Madison Alabama when she ran the 100m race in 12.20 seconds.

Meanwhile, Michelle Smith was in Nashville Tennessee on June 3, competing in the Music City Track Carnival World Athletics Continental Tour. Her time in the women's 400m hurdles, just 0.2 seconds shy of the VI National Record which she set in April, was enough to secure her 3rd place in the event.

Swindell, Peters, Smith, and other collegiate athletes from the Virgin Islands will all continue their competitive season in the coming weeks.
