Man Charged With Contempt of Court After Threatening Woman He Was Forbidden to Contact

ST. CROIX — V.I.P.D. officers on Friday at approximately 9:35 a.m. arrested 44-year-old Fernando Santiago of no fixed address, and charged him with contempt of court, domestic violence; disturbance of peace by threats; and possession of a dangerous weapon. 

According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, Santiago is accused of threatening a female victim with a weapon in downtown Christiansted on January 25, violating a no-contact court order. He was spotted in the Kingshill area by detectives and apprehended, according to police.

Santiago was not offered bail, and he was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.
