Man Attempts Gunpoint Robbery of KFC in Frederiksted, Leaves With No Cash. Can You Identify Him?

ST. CROIX — The V.I.P.D. is seeking the community's assistance in identifying a man who attempted to rob the Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant in Frederiksted Saturday night. Police also released three images of the suspect captured by surveillance video.

According to police spokesman Toby Derima, on Sunday at about 10:15 am., an employee of the the KFC restaurant in downtown Frederiksted reported to police that an individual attempted to commit a robbery of the business the previous night.

The employee reported that on November 28 at approximately 10:00 p.m., while cleaning the restaurant after closure, she was approached by a Black male wearing a camouflage face mask, dark shirt and white slippers, pointing a silver gun at her, Mr. Derima said. The suspect reportedly demanded money from the store, but the employee stated that there was no money. The suspect fled the area with no money.
