ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department on Tuesday arrested an 18-year-old man who allegedly was part of a group of individuals responsible for a string of robberies on July 31, 2021.
According to V.I.P.D. Director of Communications Glen Dratte, at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday the Criminal Investigation Bureau along with the Special Operations Bureau executed a search and arrest warrant on Isaac Frontal at his residence in Barren Spot.
Frontal’s arrest stems from a series of robberies perpetrated by a group of individuals, among them Frontal, that occurred on July 31, 2021. Victims of the crime included an elderly female who was carjacked of her white four-door sedan in Estate White Lady, according to the police report.
Later in the day, the suspects attempted to rob several individuals at gunpoint and robbed other individuals using the white four-door sedan that was taken in White Lady.
A robbery was reported at the Coral Edge Bar and Restaurant in La Vallee, Christiansted. Elsewhere, a male victim was robbed of his personal belongings and his scooter at gunpoint at the Corals Edge Bar and Breakfast.
The victim at Corals Edge stated that the driver stepped out of a white four-door sedan and pointed a handgun at him while another man demanded his scooter keys and proceeded to drive off with it.
Detectives in the area of Morning Star observed Frontal and his accomplices as they sped on the North Shore Road on the stolen scooter and the white four-door sedan. The detectives pursued the vehicles into the Harbor View Housing Community where they lost sight of them.
Detectives later recovered the white four-door sedan and never regained the scooter.
According to Mr. Dratte, based on information received and investigative work, CIB detectives were able to determine that Isaac Frontal was the person operating the stolen scooter when the detectives pursued him.
Frontal was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, third-degree assault, possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and disturbance of the peace by threats.
Unable to post bail of $100,000, Frontal was remanded to the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility pending his advisement hearing.
