ST. JOHN — St. John Bracelet, a jewelry store located in Cruz Bay was hit by two unidentified males on Thursday around 1:53 p.m., according to the V.I. Police Department.
The VIPD's Criminal Investigation Bureau confirmed the incident, which left the store owner with a gunshot wound to the face. The perpetrators, whose identities remain unknown, made away with an undisclosed amount of jewelry, according to the police report.
Emergency services were promptly alerted to the crime around 2:00 p.m., and the victim was subsequently rushed to Schneider Regional Medical Center for immediate medical attention.
Charges associated with this crime include first-degree robbery, third-degree assault, grand larceny, and simple assault. However, no arrests have been made as of now, and the bail amount remains undetermined.
The incident has shaken the local community. The Criminal Investigation Bureau is actively investigating the crime and has appealed to the public for assistance.
