ST. CROIX — Two male suspects on Monday robbed a man at gunpoint at the Bethlehem Soccer Stadium — located just north of Aureoles Diaz Heights — forcing the victim to flee the area on foot while using the victim's car to leave the area.

According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, on Monday at approximately 2 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of the robbery and dispatched officers to the scene.

The victim told police that he was at the soccer field on his phone when he was approached by two males who pointed guns at him and ordered him to leave the area on foot. He said he complied and ran away from the area leaving his belongings behind. The suspects left the area in the victim’s car, a gray 4-door Chevrolet Cavalier, Mr. Derima said.

The first suspect was described as a black male with short spiky hair on top his head, with the sides cut low. He was wearing long pants with a gray vest. The second suspect was described as Hispanic-looking with short hair wearing a black shirt and 3-quarter pants.

The VIPD is appealing to the community to report anything they may know about this incident by calling 911, the Crime TipLine at (340) 778-4950, or Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-TIPS.
