VIPA, Cruise Lines in Productive Talks on Future of St. Thomas Harbor and Port Fees Ahead of Dredging Next Year

The V.I. Port Authority officials met with members of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (F-CCA) on Wednesday to provide an update on the upcoming dredging of the Charlotte Amalie Harbor in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and VIPA's proposal to increase its port dues. According to VIPA, this project is scheduled to begin next year, according to VIPA, with the authority's executive director, Carlton Dowe, along with other VIPA officials meeting with F-CCA Chief Executive Officer Michelle Paige, and executives from Carnival Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean Group.
