Judge Approves Medical Travel for Jenifer O'Neal With Warning of Jail if Terms Are Violated

District Court Judge Mark Kearney has granted a travel request from former Office of Management and Budget Director Jenifer O'Neal as he mulls over her arguments in favor of a retrial or overturning her fraud and bribery conviction altogether.  Ms. O'Neal told the court that she needs to visit her Maryland home for 10 days beginning January 8 for a slew of medical appointments. A motion filed by her attorney assured the court that prosecutors had no objection to the travel. A recommendation that the trip be limited to only 7 days was made before becoming aware of the length of time required for Ms. O'Neal to receive all the services she is traveling for, the court was told.  In his order granting the request, Judge Kearney mandated that Ms. O'Neal's travel be limited to only the medical appointments previously outlined; that means no extraneous travel, visits, meals, or social occasions outside of her residence.
