Small Business Expo Being Hosted By Sen. DeGazon Is Set For Oct. 19

Last updated: Sept. 29, 2019 at 11:45 a.m.

Senator Allison DeGazon will host a small business expo on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Sunny Isle Amphitheater, according to a release the senator’s office recently issued. The event will be geared toward current small businesses and residents interested in becoming entrepreneurs. The general public is also invited to attend.

“Small businesses are the engine that drives the economy of the territory, and we need to provide more opportunities for small businesses to create a thriving business community” Ms. DeGazon said. “This is an opportunity for small business owners to engage their policymakers about challenges and will promote the creation of legislation that encourages small business growth in the territory.”

During the event there will be presentations from government and private entities to aid entrepreneurs. Booth display areas will be available for exhibitors to showcase and sell their products and services, according to the release.

Ms. DeGazon is also seeking exhibitors for the expo. Registration for the expo has already begun and the deadline to submit applications is Thursday, Oct. 17. Businesses are encouraged to submit the registration form as soon as possible as space is limited.

“This is also an opportunity for our small businesses to introduce themselves so that they can increase their clientele. New clients also mean a possible increase in profits,” Ms. DeGazon said.

The senator reminded the business community that she is staying focused on her platform to support small businesses. Recently, a bill to aid minority and women-owned businesses drew widespread support in July from the Committee on Economic Development, Regulations and Agriculture.

Registration forms can be sent to Ki-Ana Tonge, community liaison, at [email protected]. For more information call 340-712-2251.
