ST. THOMAS — Police are seeking the community’s assistance in locating a man suspected in the homicide of a female victim who was shot to death in Bovoni on Saturday night, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte told The Consortium this morning.
The suspect, seen above, is only known as Antonio; police believe he drives a blue Ford Escape and is most likely armed and dangerous. No other information is known about the suspect.
According to Mr. Dratte, on Saturday at about 7:39 p.m., a concerned resident contacted the 911 emergency call center and reported that an unknown female was lying on the floor of a residence in the Bovoni area. The resident did not know if the unknown victim was responsive or unresponsive.
Officers from the Mariel C. Newton Command Patrol Division, along with members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau, traveled to the scene and came in contact with the unresponsive woman lying on the floor in what appeared to be a pool of blood. The unknown female appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Emergency medical technicians who were also present on scene concluded that the female had no vital signs, Mr. Dratte said.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
The case is presently under investigation by the V.I.P.D.’s Major Crimes Unit, the V.I.P.D. said.
