The U.S. Virgin Islands was among the top three of the best Caribbean destinations on U.S. News & World Report’s latest list. U.S. News & World Report is a multi-platform publisher of news and information, which includes annual print and e-book versions of its authoritative rankings of Best Colleges, Best Graduate Schools and Best Hospitals.

The media firm said it combined expert opinions and user votes to determine the best travel spots in a variety of categories.

Topping the list of best Caribbean Destination was USVI neighbor the British Virgin Islands, followed by St. Lucia in 2nd.

The territory topped the list in the best beaches category, followed by The Bahamas in 2nd and Turks and Caicos in 3rd.

For best cheap vacations, Curacao topped the list, followed by Trinidad and Tobago, and Turks and Caicos in 3rd.

Grenada ruled for the list for best honeymoon destinations, followed by St. Vincent and the Grenadines, with St. Kitts and Nevis placing 3rd.

As for best Caribbean wedding spots, Jamaica led in the number 1 spot, followed by Turks and Caicos in 2nd and The Bahamas in 3rd.

The U.S. Virgin Islands also topped the best family vacation destinations in then Caribbean list, followed by St. Vincent and the Grenadines in 2nd, and the BVI in third.
