Brothers Arrested After Admitting To Heist

ST. CROIX — Two brothers were arrested on Monday after admitting to police that they had robbed a home and stolen a car in La Grande Princesse, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced late Monday.

According to Mr. Dratte, at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, a resident of La Grande Princesse called 911 to report that personal items were missing from their home, along with a vehicle, a gold Ford Fiesta.

According to the release, at 12:53 a.m. Monday, officers on patrol came across a suspicious vehicle in Whim, Frederiksted. Upon further investigation, the officers discovered a gold Ford Fiesta with two male individuals in it.

The suspects, 20-year-old Moises Figueroa lll and 18-year-old Hassan Figueroa, were arrested and charged with second-degree burglary and unauthorized use of a vehicle, according to Mr. Dratte. The suspects were taken into custody where they admitted to police that they’d robbed the La Grande Princesse home and stolen the vehicle early Sunday morning, Mr. Dratte said.

Unable to make bail of $50,000 each, the brothers were remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending their advisement hearing.
