Four University of the Virgin Islands students were honored for their participation in the Juan F. Luis Hospital’s Nurse Extern Program on Friday, which was dormant since 2012 but was revived this year. The program, which supports up to 16 students, is funded through the Bennie and Martha Benjamin Foundation.

The program provides hands-on training to UVI nursing students and prepares them to “easily adapt to the hospital setting once they are licensed,” according to JFL. Watch the video above.
