Fire Consumes Third Floor Of Residential Building In Estate Nadir

A fire was ablaze on the third floor of a building complex in Estate Nadir in the wee hours of Sunday morning, according to a release issued by Government House.

According to the release, on Sunday at 3:45 a.m., both units from the Lima Company Fire Station responded to a 911 emergency call about a structural fire located at #20-7 Estate Nadir. Upon arrival, Fire Service personnel found the third floor apartment of the a three story residential structure fully engulfed in flames.

Additional units from Hotel Company were ordered on the scene, according to the release. Fire service personnel began firefighting operations from the third level of the structure and proceeded to extinguish the internal contents of the apartment. After the fire was extinguished, fire service personnel conducted salvage and overhaul operations, which included searching the structural debris for any signs of hidden fires and hotspots.

Fire Service personnel conducted a safety inspection on the structure before all units on scene returned to their duty stations at 5:10 a.m.

The fire is under investigation by the St. Thomas- St. John Arson Prevention and Investigation Unit.
