Police Seeking Help In Locating St. Thomas Runaway Teens

News / Virgin Islands / April 8, 2017

ST. THOMAS — The Virgin Islands Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in locating two runaway teens, whose mother reported to the V.I.P.D. on Thursday that her two teenage daughters had ran away.

The missing teens are Janessa Harper, 16, above left, and Ryleigh Harper, above upper-right, 14.

According to a release issued by V.I.P.D. Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman on Friday, the mother reported to police that she returned to her home and discovered that the teens’ suitcases, clothes and other personal items were missing. She said that she received a phone call from one of her daughters saying that she was okay, safe and she that she loves her.

The V.I.P.D. is asking anyone that may know of the whereabouts of the Harper sisters to contact the force at (340) 774-2211, or the Juvenile Investigation Bureau at (340) 715-5542. You may also contact Crime Stopper USVI here.

The matter is currently under investigation, according to the V.I.P.D.
