Empire Star Tobias Truvillion And USVI’s Janeisha John To Host All Black New Year’s Eve Affair At Carambola Resort

ST. CROIX — Tobias Truvillion known best for his breakout role as D. Major on Fox’s hit series Empire and USVI’s Janeisha John will ring in 2017 on St. Croix at Renaissance Carambola Beach Resort with an elegant “All Black” New Year’s Eve affair, the Julien Management Group announced Wenesday.

The soiree will be held on December 31 at 11:00 p.m. and promises to be a spectacular celebration surrounding the duo’s Crucian Carnival excursion centered on ground work for their 2017 Summer Youth Arts Intensive on St. Croix, acccording to the release.

Ms. John, a St. Croix native and former Miss U.S.V.I, now a successful model, actress and television/radio personality based in Los Angeles, California, knows firsthand the importance of the arts particularly to youth on St. Croix, according to the release. Her vision of paying it forward to further expand the arts on island to young men and women is the catalyst for this New Year’s Eve collaboration. Mr. Truvillion previously starred on ABC’s Daytime One Life To Live and hit movies such as Brooklyn’s Finest and Hitch. He has overseen the very successful Advantage Arts Program for youth at Dr. Marion A. Bolden Center in Newark, NJ, for almost a decade while juggling a rigorous acting career. And Mr. Truvillion is no stranger to St. Croix, and has visited the island on numerous occasions with wife Michelle Truvillion, who is also a Youth Advocate and Arts Instructor working with the City of Newark on Youth initiatives. His commitment to youth and love for the arts is undoubtedly an asset to Ms. John’s mission, the release states.

Together they hope the event and their initiatives will shed light on the community’s artistic diversity and burgeoning young talent to dismantle negative stereotypes. DJ Swain Productions will be providing music for the night and Virgin Islands Soca Sensation Pumpa will add his musical touch to the event with a special performance highlighting his 2017 Carnival tracks. Both are participating in support of Ms. John’s expanding opportunities in the arts not only to youth of St. Croix but the entire USVI.

Ms. John and Mr. Truvillion will also be joined by a delegation of US-based press outlets and other celebrity friends at the New Year’s Eve “All Black Affair” in addition to their coverage of the Crucian Carnival 2016/2017 festivities while on island. The event is being produced by Event Engineers NYC, The Julien Management Group and Renaissance Carambola Beach Resort St. Croix.
